Public accountability safeguards

Right of Reply and Corrections Policy

Public accountability is strongest when the underlying record is inspectable, material errors are corrected promptly, and people or institutions discussed have a clear route to provide evidence-based responses.

This policy applies to JTforME accountability pages, timelines, public-record summaries, research briefs, dashboards, and packets. It does not create a private case-intake channel or a forum for publishing confidential family information.

Core commitment

Accuracy before defensiveness.

Correct material errors

When reliable evidence shows that a material factual statement is wrong, JTforME will correct it and identify the substance of the correction.

Preserve the audit trail

Substantive changes should be dated and described. Silent edits are reserved for spelling, formatting, broken links, or other non-substantive cleanup.

Publish fair responses

A person or institution directly discussed may submit a concise response supported by public or otherwise lawfully shareable evidence.

How to request review

Send a precise, source-supported request.

Use the public LinkedIn contact identified throughout this site. Do not send child names, sealed records, confidential exhibits, medical records, school records, or private allegations.

Include these five items

  1. The exact page URL and disputed passage.
  2. Whether the request concerns a factual error, missing context, outdated information, attribution, privacy, or a requested right of reply.
  3. The proposed correction or response in clear language.
  4. Primary-source support, including a public URL where available.
  5. Your relationship to the issue and whether your response may be published with your name or institutional title.

Review standard

What JTforME evaluates.

Evidence quality

  • Official records and first-party documents
  • Contemporaneous records with clear provenance
  • Reliable reporting or peer-reviewed research
  • Whether the source actually supports the requested change

Materiality and fairness

  • Whether the issue changes the meaning of the page
  • Whether context was omitted in a misleading way
  • Whether attribution is accurate
  • Whether publication would expose protected or private information
Possible outcomes

Every request should produce a reasoned disposition.

Correction

The text, date, attribution, chart, source note, or link is corrected. Material corrections receive a dated note.

Clarification or update

The original statement may be accurate but incomplete, stale, or reasonably misunderstood. Additional context is added without erasing the prior record.

Right-of-reply publication

A concise response may be added in full or summarized faithfully, with a link to supporting public material where appropriate.

No change

If the cited evidence does not establish error or material unfairness, the page may remain unchanged. The reasoning should be documented internally and may be summarized publicly.

Removal or redaction

Content may be removed or narrowed when it creates an avoidable privacy, safety, legal, or accuracy risk that outweighs its public value.

Pending verification

A visible review note may be added when a consequential dispute cannot yet be resolved from available evidence.

Publication boundaries

What will not be published through this process.

  • Sealed, confidential, illegally obtained, or unlawfully disclosed records.
  • Information identifying children or exposing private medical, school, counseling, or safety information.
  • Unsupported accusations, threats, harassment, personal attacks, or speculation about motive.
  • Responses whose length or form would overwhelm the underlying page; these may be edited for length with the substance preserved.
  • Material that turns a public-policy record into private litigation by proxy.

This policy is a public editorial standard, not a promise to publish every submission and not a waiver of legal rights or defenses.

Correction log standard

Substantive corrections should be visible and understandable.

Each material correction note should identify the date, the affected page, what was changed, and why. Minor typography, accessibility, formatting, or link repairs do not require individual notices unless they alter meaning.

Recommended label: “Correction — [date]: [brief description of prior statement and corrected information].”

Recommended update label: “Updated — [date]: [new official source, response, disposition, or contextual development].”
