Safety first: emergency danger goes to 911. Child abuse or neglect reporting should use official Maine reporting channels. Domestic violence, coercive control, stalking, sexual assault, or safe-device concerns should start with live advocacy and crisis support.

Keep organized: worker names, office/unit, phone numbers, case identifiers, notices, safety plans, service plans, visitation/contact notes, provider referrals, review dates, records requests, and written instructions.

Keep lanes separate: private family court, DHHS/OCFS child welfare, child support, school/provider coordination, housing, and benefits use different official doors.
