Before court: confirm the date, time, location or remote link, docket number, judge/magistrate, and purpose of the hearing. Carry current orders, notices, pleadings, service proof, child-support paperwork, and one short question list.

During court: write down the result, next date, deadlines, documents due, and who must do what. Ask how and when the written order or notice will arrive.

After court: compare the written order to what was said, calendar every deadline, save proof of follow-up, and keep communications factual, child-centered, and tied to the order or next step.
